The Bachelorette Party

It is no surprise that Bachelor fans throw some of the best watch parties out there. Whether you’re new to the group and want to join in on the fun for the first time or you’re a seasoned Bachelor Nation vet, I’ve got everything you’ll need to make the most out of your watch party for this season of The Bachelorette. Grab your girls, pull your hair up in a messy bun, throw on your yoga pants and pop the champagne because I’m sure this will be “the most dramatic season ever” and you won’t want to miss out on a second of it…

Check out the gallery below for a little preview of the recipes that are featured in this post:

Drinks: Pomegranate Champagne Punch

The most important part of any good “Bachelorette Party” is, of course, the drinks. If you are one of those people who gets butterflies while watching other people fall in love, then you’ll probably want a drink to celebrate the next chapter in Jo Jo Flethcer’s love story. Or if you’re like me, and apparently plan on being single and alone forever, you will most definitely want to drink about it.

A champagne cocktail seemed like the perfect drink to help us all make it through the awkward limo entrances and introductions and celebrate those few “love at first sight” moments. Initially I thought a strawberry flavored cocktail would be the way to go, but then I thought about one of my all-time favorite Bachelor contestants…the one and only Ashley S.

Ashley S

For those of you who are new to Bachelor Nation, Ashley S. was once very convinced that a pomegranate was an onion, and then utterly surprised to find out just how wrong she was. This was just one of the many unforgettable moments that Ashley S. gave us over her two-season Bachelor Nation stint (The Bachelor: Season 19, Bachelor in Paradise: Season 2), but it was also the inspiration for my Pomegranate Champagne Punch.

The combination of 100% pure pomegranate juice, fresh lime juice, triple sec and champagne make this cocktail a crisp and refreshing choice. The original recipe called for pear nectar, but I decided to use lime juice instead to give this drink a tart finish (and because I’m too cheap for fancy ingredients like that).

Food: Pizza Roses

When I’m all caught up on new episodes of the 20+ TV shows that I’m watching, my next favorite pastime is scrolling through my Facebook feed and watching the countless cooking videos that I come across. After watching 4 different videos of creamy pasta dishes, 2 variations of home made pie and 3 boozy cocktail recipes, I stumbled across this gem.

The Pizza Rose — It was so elegant. And Beautiful. And holy shit, did you see all those pepperonis?! They looked perfect, and I knew that I just had to make these for my Bachelorette premiere party.

I will say, however, that they ended up being a little harder than the cutesy little Buzzfeed video made them seem. Throughout this process, I discovered that I don’t have a rolling pin (don’t worry, it’s on my list now) so spreading the dough thin enough was a bit tough. Not to mention that fact that when I rolled mine up, sauce kept oozing out of every crevice and the pepperonis did not want to stay in formation.

I was convinced that I would find myself posting the end results somewhere as a #pinterestfail, instead of here on my blog like I had originally intended. Imagine my surprise when I took them out of the oven and found that I had something insta-worthy to share with the world! The moral of this story: If I can pull something like this off, then so can you. Don’t get discouraged if they don’t look pretty from the start, because I promise you that they will taste delicious by the end.

Food: Jo Jo Fries

I just couldn’t resist myself here… Pun 100% intended, these Jo Jo fries are an obvious choice for any Bachelorette-themed get together you throw this season. The best part is that these little treats are so simple to make. The hardest part of the whole recipe is cutting your potatoes. I personally prefer thinner fries, so I had to do a bit more chopping to prep them to my liking.

I tend to go a bit heavy on the seasoning, but in my opinion you can never have too much! I tossed my Jo Jo’s in butter, olive oil, flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper and paprika. Feel free to pick and choose your own spice combination and dipping sauces to keep this recipe true to yourself.

Drinking Game Rules: The Bachelorette Edition

Last, but most certainly not least, no true watch party would be complete without a solid set of rules to drink to as you watch. I’ve seen games out there with rule, after rule, after rule…and the drunker you get, the harder they are to remember. This time around let’s keep things simple, but don’t worry because I’m sure there will still be plenty of drinking with the handful of rules that I’ve come up with. The Bachelorette - Drinking Game

UPDATE: It’s finale time, and that means we need a set of “Final Rose” edition drinking game rules. Will JoJo pick Jordan or Luke? Either way, I plan on being too drunk to care since Luke isn’t in the running…
